Adjective With Verbs

Adjectives can be used after some verbs such as be, look, smell, get, become, seem, sound, appear, taste, feel, etc.

  • The cake smells good.
  • It is it getting late.
  • The dress looks nice.
  • The food tastes good.
  • The clothes feel wet.
  • The flowers smell good.
  • The food tastes bad
  • The trip sounds boring.
  • That lecture does not sound interesting.
  • The idea does not seem reasonable.

Note: Adjectives describe the subject that is performing the action. Adjective do not describe the verb.
